Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple because our data practices are simple: we run an email list, a route submission form, and point you to the communities where GrvlUp lives.

What we collect

Email address. When you join our mailing list through the signup form, you provide your email address voluntarily. That is the only information the signup form asks for.

Name, email, and route details. If you submit a route through our route submission form, we collect your name, email address, the route link, region, and the ride intel you provide (surface notes, tire recommendation, resupply and hazard information, and an optional photos link). Submitting a route also requires confirming you rode or scouted it within the last two years; crediting you as the submitter is optional and requires your consent.

Basic technical data. Our site is hosted on Netlify, which may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We use this only in aggregate to understand site traffic and keep the site running.

How we use your information

We use your email address to send you GrvlUp updates: new route collections, regional launches, group rides, and community news. We use route submission details to review, verify, and — with your consent — publish routes into our regional collections. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, and we do not send email on behalf of third parties.

Who processes your data

Our email list is managed by Kit (kit.com), which stores subscriber addresses and delivers our emails on our behalf. Route submissions are processed through Netlify Forms, which receives and stores form data on our behalf. Our website is hosted on Netlify, which processes the technical log data described above. Each provider's handling of your data is also governed by its own privacy policy.

Third-party communities

GrvlUp routes and community activity live on third-party platforms, including Ride with GPS, Strava, and Instagram. When you follow links from our site to those platforms, their privacy policies govern what happens there. Joining the GrvlUp club on those platforms is subject to each platform's own terms.

Cookies

This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies of its own. Our email provider, form processor, or hosting service may set functional cookies needed to process form submissions or serve the site.

Your choices

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing removes you from the list immediately. You can also ask us to delete your email address or a submitted route entirely by contacting us at the address below, and we will remove it from our records and the relevant provider's records.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
